• 1 pack Sympli Yam Cubes
  • 450g firm white fish
  • 100mL vegetable oil
  • 3 tomatoes
  • ½ onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 160g shredded smoked fish
  • 2 tbsp palm oil
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 habanero or scotch bonnet pepper

Heat up a nonstick pan with vegetable oil, and pan fry the fish until golden brown on both sides. Set aside.

In a blender, purée the tomatoes, onions and garlic. Pour the contents in the sauce pan with the fish oil.

Add palm oil. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Add smoked fish and about 4 to 5 cups of water, seasoned with salt and seasoning. Bring to boil.

Slowly add Sympli Yam Cubes and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add water as needed, and if you wish you may throw in whole or ground chilli pepper at this time.

Add in the fried fish and greens, stirring occasionally until tender, about 5 minutes. Adjust for salt and pepper. Leave to simmer for two minutes and then turn off heat.
