- 1 pack Sympli Ripe Plantain Slices
- 40g brown sugar cubes
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- Salt to taste
- ¼ piece ginger
- 60mL honey
- 1 stick unsalted butter
How to Prepare Caramel Plantain using Symplinatural Recipes ;
In a sauce pan, heat up ½ stick of butter, and then gently stir in sugar and honey.
When sugar is fully melted and smooth, add cinnamon, honey and shaved ginger.
Add a pinch of salt while stirring evenly, until caramel syrup is ready.
Lightly grease baking pan with other ½ stick of butter.
Heat oven at 350°c
Pour Sympli Ripe Plantain Slices into the baking dish and bake for 15 mins at 200°c.
When plantain is done, pour the caramel syrup onto the plantain (lavishly) and bake for another 10 mins at 180°c.
Leave to cool down slightly, and serve with any favourite side dish!
